According to reports, Zimbabwean legend Heath Streak is in severe condition.

Heath Streak, the legendary player and former captain of Zimbabwe, is apparently terminally ill. Although the specifics of his condition have not yet been disclosed, he is now fighting for his life in South Africa.

David Coltart, a former minister of education, the arts, and culture, confirmed the news on Twitter, while sportswriter Mike Madoda said that the renowned cricketer is currently in need of a miracle to be saved. Everyone was also requested to remember Streak in their prayers.

“Heath Streak is near the end of his life. family traveling from the UK to South Africa. Now, it seems like only a miracle can save him. “Prayers up,” tweeted Madoda.

Heath Streak’s storied professional career

On November 10, 1993, the 49-year-old played his first match against South Africa in a foreign country. After that, Heath participated in 189 ODIs and 65 Test matches for Zimbabwe. Heath amassed 1990 runs in the game’s longest format at an average of 22.35, and he also claimed 216 wickets at an average of 28.14.

In terms of white-ball cricket, Heath Streak amassed 239 wickets and scored 2943 runs.

Streak became embroiled in a rigging scandal after his playing days were done, and the ICC punished the former cricketer as a result. He was accused of taking bribes from possible crook Indian businessman Deepak Agarwal, for which he later expressed regret and maintained he had never intended to rig the competition.

Streak also participated in 309 List-A games and 175 first-class games, where he amassed 408 runs and 5684 runs, respectively. The pacer was able to claim 499 and 385 wickets with his bowling, respectively.
