England didn’t lose heart despite dropping the first two Test matches of the ongoing Ashes 2023, managing to win the third match and coming close to winning the fourth before rain spoiled their hopes. With that, the host team was unable to return with the urn and Australia was able to win back the Ashes.
After that, the team’s captain, Zak Crawley, said they were unhappy but were certain they could win the fifth and final Test at Kennington Oval.
The conclusion of the series on amicable terms would be excellent, he continued, because the entire run had been quite exciting and could have gone either way.
He also thinks that England’s problems won’t end with losing the Ashes. He said that captain Ben Stokes believes they are beginning a new chapter in red-ball cricket and is working to assemble a group that can compete with any opponent.

While Australia has the chance to win a Test series on English soil for the first time since 2001, England will be vying for the right to end the series on an even keel.
