Sai Sudharsan, the opener for Gujarat Titans (GT), has received accolades from former Indian pacer Zaheer Khan, who also predicted that the young player would have a good career in Test cricket.
Throughout the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season, the left-handed batsman has been in outstanding form, amassing 759 runs in 15 games and winning the Orange Cap.
Sai Sudharsan was duly called up to India’s Test team for the forthcoming five-match series against England due to his outstanding IPL season and his steady domestic results. The former left-arm bowler for India acknowledged his commitment and referred to him as “Mr. Cricket in the making.”
“Sai Sudharsan is Mr. Cricket in the making, based on everything I’ve heard this season. Yes. He will therefore examine the pitch, the finer points, his innings, his game, and he will spend hours in the nets practicing. His attitude towards the game is like that. He will undoubtedly like playing whites, said to Zaheer, who was cited by Cricbuzz.
A few important slots in the Indian lineup have become available after Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, two Indian veterans, recently announced their retirement from Test cricket earlier in May. This gave young players like Sudharsan a chance to secure a spot in the team.
Shubman Gill, who was been named the new Test captain, will command the Indian Test team. On the difficult tour of the United Kingdom, the 25-year-old will lead a youthful team. Karun Nair is a dynamic batter who has won a position in the squad following a strong domestic showing. Nair made a great impression during the audition process for a possible spot in the playing XI and struck a double century for India A in the current match against the England Lions.
Sudharsan will join a little early to play in the remaining tour matches with India A, but the series against England starts on June 20 with the first Test at Headingley in Leeds.
