Not many things inspire a strong sense of pride and community, and acknowledging the military and other services is one among them. During his encounter with the “Special Forces” on August 9 at the Dogra Regiment in Uttar Pradesh, Indian cricket player Yuzvendra Chahal felt a strong sense of pride and belonging.
Yuzvendra Chahal expressed his profound feelings in an emotional Instagram post that included a number of images.
These included him giving one of the chiefs a framed replica of the T20 World Cup 2024 winning jersey, posing with different officers, and an incredible group photo with all of the commandos. He conveyed his sense of great delight and deep honour at being among such a prestigious group of people who are committed to helping the country.

These days, Indian cricket stars and army troops seldom ever cross paths since players are too busy with social events and brand endorsements. But there are a few past cricket players who were associated with the Army. For example, in 2010 Sachin Tendulkar was made an honorary Group Captain in the Indian Air Force, while in 2011 the Indian Territorial Army made former captain MS Dhoni an honorary Lieutenant Colonel.

As far as the leggie’s standing in cricket is concerned, he has been noticeably out of the spotlight for a considerable amount of time. He was not used in any of the tournament’s matches even though he was part of the 15-man roster for the T20 World Cup in 2024. His ban continued into the next Zimbabwe series and the just finished Sri Lanka tour. In an attempt to restore his standing in the Indian lineup, Chahal is probably going to step up his training.
