In the third and final Test of the series, a determined New Zealand team defeated India by 25 runs to achieve a 3-0 clean sweep at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium. To guarantee a position in the WTC Final, India will go to Australia.
Speaking about the effects of the third Test outcome, Australia rose to the top of the WTC rankings, while Team India now drops to number two. It will therefore be difficult for the Indian team to advance to the WTC final, which is set for June of the following year.
