Stats: Yashasvi Jaiswal became the fourth-highest run-scorer in Tests after the first ten matches

Yashasvi Jaiswal has progressed through the ranks and gained entry into India’s Test team by showcasing his talent in the shortest format.

After the first ten Test matches, Jaiswal is now the fourth-highest run scorer in Test cricket history thanks to his outstanding efforts in the longest format. With 1094 runs under his belt, Jaiswal has joined the rare group that includes Sir Don Bradman, a former cricket player for Australia.

undoubtedly, one of Team India’s best prospects is the star batter Yashasvi Jaiswal

It is noteworthy to mention that after ten Test matches, only three players scored more runs than Jaiswal: Don Bradman (1446), Everton Weekes (1125), and George Headley (1102). Jaiswal broke into the elite club in the ongoing Test match against Bangladesh with a tenacious knock of 56 runs in the first innings and 10 more in the second.

It’s also noteworthy that Sunil Gavaskar, who scored 978 runs in the first ten matches in the longest format, held the record for the most runs scored by an Indian after ten Tests prior to Jaiswal.

India continue to dominate Bangladesh

Regarding the current match between India and Bangladesh, since the latter part of Day 1, everything has gone well for the Indian squad. R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja played outstanding knocks, guiding the hosts to a total of 376 runs in the first innings after Bangladesh put on a strong display and tormented India’s top order in the first innings.

India responded with an equally remarkable display of skill with the ball. With the ball, Jasprit Bumrah put on quite the display, assisting India in limiting the visitors to just 149 runs in the opening session.

India maintained a sizable lead over the visitors by the close of Day 2, having scored 81 runs in the second innings once more. The team’s goal is to cause disruptions with the bat and set up a large target that Bangladesh would have to chase.
