In the last over, he held MS Dhoni at the strike, defending 27 runs. The game changed with Dhoni’s wicket, and CSK just needed to score 18 of the arduous runs to qualify for the playoffs.
When Dayal bowled the opening ball of the over, the seasoned player hit a massive blowout. When Dhoni was caught at the boundary rope in the second delivery, it turned out to be disastrous for the IPL 2023 winners. The right-arm bowler disclosed that Virat Kohli’s motivational speech about bowling the slower players and staying away from yorkers had aided him in his quest.
“I told Virat bhaiya not to give pace to Mahi bhai because he likes pace, so after the first ball six, a chat with him really helped me relax,” Dayal stated, as cited by News24.
