WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair reacts to Rohit Sharma copying his T20 WC trophy walk,

Ten years of ICC tournament near-misses came to an end as India overcame South Africa by seven runs in the T20 World Cup 2024 final held in Barbados. The image of Rohit Sharma strutting up to accept the trophy at the presentation ceremony is only one of the many that Indian supporters will always remember. The WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair, who used to approach the wrestling ring in a similar fashion, is credited with inspiring Rohit’s walking style.

Ric Flair recently tweeted a video of himself displaying the same walk as Rohit. “Globally Irreverent! The former WWE wrestler wrote, “WOOOOO!” as the caption for the photo.

Here’s the tweet –

It’s worth noting that the WWE veteran has already commented about Rohit’s strut. A day after the championship game, on June 30, Flair uploaded a video of Rohit walking up to the stage to pick up the trophy. “. @ImRo45 Taking A Cue From My Model! “WOOOOO!” The post was captioned by Flair.

On Tuesday, an Indian team will leave Barbados.

Cyclone Beryl forced the local authorities to close the airport for safety reasons, leaving the Indian team stuck in Barbados following the final. The crew is expected to leave tonight at 6 p.m. Barbados time and arrive in New Delhi around 7:45 p.m. local time on Wednesday, July 3, provided that the weather improves later. It is likely the only reason the victorious group is travelling to the capital: they are scheduled to have a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The five-match Twenty20 International series visit of Zimbabwe is Team India’s next assignment, which begins on July 6. Several young players were selected for this tour, while the majority of the T20 World Cup roster was rested.
