WTC Final 2025: Qualification scenarios for India, Bangladesh, and Pakistan

With Bangladesh recording a historic victory against Pakistan during the course of a two-match Test series, the competition for the final berths in the World Test Championship (WTC) is intensifying. It is noteworthy that Bangladesh is enjoying their greatest run in all three WTC tournaments.

After winning just one game in a total of 19 games in the first two editions, they have already won three in the current 2023–25 cycle. Bangladesh, who had begun the series with a low ranking, is currently ranked fourth following their victory over Pakistan in the second Test at Rawalpindi.

However, after losing the series against Bangladesh, Pakistan has now dropped five straight Test matches and is now ranked seventh. The team will try to make some adjustments quickly because their hopes of making the final are becoming less and less realistic.

Keeping with the same theme, let’s continue reading to discover what nations like Bangladesh, Pakistan, and India must accomplish to qualify for the 2025 World Tennis Championship:

India

India National Cricket Team 1 2India’s record in nine Test matches is six victories, two losses, and one draw. With 74 points, the team captained by Rohit Sharma is now atop the WTC standings. With runner-up finishes in the last two editions, India is poised to make another appearance in the WTC final from the pole position. In order to guarantee a position in what could be their third straight final at the prestigious ICC event, India currently has to win five of their remaining ten games.

Pakistan

113032385Pakistan has only been able to win two of their seven games thus far, losing the rest five. With 16 points, they are only ahead of the West Indies and occupy eighth position in the standings. Although winning every Test left in their cycle is necessary for the team to stay in the race, it appears highly unlikely that they will make it to the final.

Bangladesh

113023121Bangladesh will now play India after defeating Pakistan in the series. After that, they will travel to the Caribbean and then host South Africa at home to finish their cycle. Bangladesh’s series victory against Pakistan hasn’t really altered their fate; they still need to win four of their next six games to be in the running, and their chances of reaching the final are slim.
