WPL 2025: In their third consecutive final, the Delhi Capitals aim to win the long-awaited championship.

When the Delhi Capitals play the Mumbai Indians in their third consecutive final of the league on Saturday at Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai, they will be going all out for their “third time is the charm” moment after missing out on the Women’s Premier League crown twice. With five wins and three losses in their last eight games, the Delhi Capitals, captained by Meg Lanning, are coming off a strong league stage and will advance directly to the final.

Regarding the team’s campaign this season and playing in a third straight final, he said, “It’s really irrelevant what’s happened in the past, even what’s happened in the round games this year.” They have no significance. It’s about tomorrow night’s performance. We are thrilled about the chance we have given ourselves to compete to the best of our abilities in the competition.”

“I believe that different people have stepped forward at different periods during the entire year. We have a lot of confidence going into tomorrow’s game because I don’t think we depend on just one or two individuals. Speaking to the media at a news conference on the day of the big game, she went on to say, “No matter whose night it is, we’ll be able to deliver and really put Mumbai under pressure.” She also discussed the campaign and playing the third consecutive final.

Lanning responded, “She’s been excellent for us,” when questioned about her opening partner Shafali Verma‘s performance this season. When it comes to the bat, she has some really good starts. It appears like she has been having a great time playing cricket. She frequently has a broad smile on her face, which is always encouraging. Both on and off the field, she is a vital member of our squad. She has a lot of innings left for tomorrow night, and I’ve truly enjoyed seeing her succeed.”

I want to run as many times as possible: Lanning

Lanning talked about her time playing for the Delhi Capitals in India, saying, “I’ve really liked being a part of the WPL and the Delhi Capitals. It’s a fantastic tournament that is different in many ways. My competitive nature and desire to succeed, however, have not altered. No matter what game I’m playing or which team I’m playing for, that has never left me. I want to help the team win by contributing and scoring as many runs as I can.

On Saturday, March 15, at Mumbai’s historic Brabourne Stadium, the Delhi Capitals will play the Mumbai Indians in the WPL 2025 Final.
