Women’s World Cup 2025 Trophy Tour inspires Guwahati

During its tour, the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 Trophy Tour honoured Guwahati’s cricketing culture as the city gets ready to host the world championship for the first time ever.

Over the course of its six-day tour, the esteemed trophy stopped at some of Guwahati’s most picturesque and historic sites, such as the War Memorial, Northbrook Gate, the culturally rich Mahabahu Brahmaputra River Heritage Centre, and a ferry ride from Fancy Bazar Ghat that captured the sunset over the Brahmaputra River. The tour offered supporters a special chance to get involved with the competition and support women’s cricket.

The tour’s six stops—NPS International School, SBOA Public School, South Point School, Assam Jatiya Bidyalay, SAI RNS Academy, and Holy Child School—were a major highlight. Students participated in games with a cricket theme, welcomed the trophy with heroism, and engaged in interesting activities.

With ticket costs starting at just ₹100 (about USD 1.14), the lowest ever for any ICC global event, the 13th edition of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup sets a new standard for accessibility.

In preparation for the tournament, which will take place from September 30 to November 2 at DY Patil Stadium (Navi Mumbai), ACA Stadium (Guwahati), Holkar Stadium (Indore), ACA-VDCA Stadium (Visakhapatnam), and R Premadasa Stadium (Colombo, Sri Lanka), the tour has now moved to Visakhapatnam after stopping in Guwahati.

For the prestigious competition, the ICC has started its signature “Will to Win” campaign. The campaign honours the triumphant development of women’s cricket as a sport and is based on the ideas of tenacity and resolve.

By uniting the top players from across the world, the 13th edition of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup is expected to motivate the sport’s future players and supporters.
