The 15-player team for the forthcoming ICC Women’s World Cup, which will be played in India and Sri Lanka, was announced today by the Cricket Australia National Selection Panel (NSP).
Before starting its WC campaign against Trans-Tasman foes, New Zealand, in Indore on October 1, Australia will complete its preparations with three One-Day Internationals against hosts, India, from September 14–20 in New Chandigarh and New Dehli.
Charli Knott and Nicole Faltum will return home for the Women’s National Cricket League (WNCL) opener after joining the team for the ODI series.
While Grace Harris, who was a member of Australia’s winning team at the 2022 tournament in New Zealand, may play her first ODI World Cup match during the tournament, Phoebe Litchfield, Georgia Voll, Sophie Molineux, Georgia Wareham, and Kim Garth have been added to their first 50-over World Cup squad.
After missing time in December due to a knee injury, Molineux is back on the team. She is anticipated to be available for the World Cup but will probably miss Australia’s ODI matches against India.
