Nathan Lyon
In the second Test of the just-finished Ashes 2023, Nathan Lyon got a terrible calf injury that prevented him from playing the rest of the series. He is presently in rehabilitation and intends to make a comeback in the 2018 Sheffield Shield. Prior to that, the seasoned spinner acknowledged that his recovery was going well and expressed gratitude for all of Cricket Australia and New South Wales’ assistance.

Meanwhile, he anticipates being healthy enough to play in the series against Pakistan and the West Indies by the time summer arrives in Australia. In order to get back into the swing of things, he anticipates playing at least five Shield games.

“It’s progressing quite beautifully. Being in rehab for the first time is a novel experience, but thanks to Cricket Australia and New South Wales Cricket’s support, everything is going well. The summer should be very decent, although I’m getting tired of calf lifts,” Lyon told cricket.com.au.

Nathan Lyon said that it was terrible and difficult to see the national team play without him in the mix while speaking about his injuries. He acknowledged missing the game but said that it was a whole different experience.

“It was awful. I suffered mentally from watching it and struggling not to be there, so there’s no point in hiding behind it. It was seen through a different lens because it was my first time being away from the test team in twelve years. The 35-year-old continued, “But I now know the reaction back here while the Ashes are on because I never see that side of things.

In addition to winning at home in England, I also want to win in India.

Lyon is determined to defeat India and England in Test matches away from home, so he has no intention of slowing down. He aspires to accomplish this achievement before calling it quits because he has yet to do it in his career. Notably, he won’t visit England again until 2027, but he intends to keep in shape until then to fulfill his desire.

I had stated that I wanted to win in India and wanted to win away in England, but I wasn’t able to do either of those things. So it appears that I must complete another cycle,” Lyon said.
