With a 12-person special committee, Sourav Ganguly is in charge of the Eden Gardens preparations.

The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) and former BCCI president Sourav Ganguly are collaborating closely to ensure that all fans have a positive experience during the next ODI World Cup 2023, which will get underway on October 5 at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium. In the meantime, Kolkata will host five games at the renowned Eden Gardens stadium. However, Ganguly and CAB are not resting on their laurels and will also host a number of big games, including the second semi-final.

It’s interesting to note that the CAB has established a 12-person special committee to oversee the construction of Eden Gardens, which includes a number of illustrious individuals, like Ganguly. When a fire started in the away dressing room recently, the stadium and the board received harsh criticism. The committee is therefore working assiduously to avert similar incidents, and they anticipate having finished their job well before the tournament began. Notably, Ganguly oversaw the CAB when the T20 World Cup final was held at Eden Gardens in 2016 and then served as BCCI president for the T20 World Cup in 2021. He provided an update on the project’s progress and has experience managing huge competitions.

“Working with Eden is going great. The task would be finished on schedule, according to Sourav Ganguly, as reported by India Today.

Along with Sourav Ganguly, current CAB leader Snehasish Ganguly and previous CAB president Avishek Dalmiya are also members of the committee. Sourav’s older brother assured that everything is proceeding quite smoothly and that they anticipate a great deal of success in the competition when asked about the complete work process.

“We formed a 12-person committee for the World Cup. Both Sourav and IPL governing council member Avishek were retained. We are all prepared to succeed in this wonderful yajna, Snehasish said.

On the other side, Eden Gardens match tickets will be available starting at 8 p.m. on September 2.
