Wimbledon advises players not to do a Bairstow during the prestigious tennis tournament and attack protestors.

Wimbledon is likely to advise players not to engage the ‘Just Stop Oil’ protestors in light of rumours that they are planning to target the Championships. Jonny Bairstow was observed recently grappling a protester and escorting him off the pitch after they disrupted play on Day 1 of the second Ashes 2023 Test at Lord’s. Recent events that were disrupted by the group include the Grand National, the World Snooker Championship, and the Premiership rugby final.

Therefore, the administrators of Wimbledon are on high alert and prepared to prevent any court invasions or interruptions of play during the tournament.

According to reports, the All England Club (AELTC) has shared information with the England Cricket Board (ECB) and Silverstone, the site of the British Grand Prix on Sunday, July 2, to prevent future disruptions.

The operations director of the All England Club, Michelle Dite, requested that supporters respect the safety and enjoyment of all and informed them of the revised security plans.

Independent quoted Dite as saying, “Throughout the year, we work closely with the Metropolitan Police and other relevant organisations to ensure that The Championships is as safe and secure as possible, and that our plans and measures are commensurate with the threat level and prevalent risks.”

“Based on what has occurred at other sporting events and on the advice of our key partners, we have reviewed and strengthened our security plans for the championships,” he continued.

Australia leads England by 91 runs in the first innings.

Australia has a 91-run advantage on Day 3 of the second Test of the Ashes 2023 at Lord’s after dismissing England for 325 in response to Australia’s first innings score of 416. Mitchell Starc was the most effective bowler upon his return to the squad, taking 3/88 in 17 overs.

Australia’s short-ball attack paid dividends on Day 2 of the second Test against England, with the hosts dominating at 188/1. Australia are 12/0 with openers Usman Khawaja (6*) and David Warner (5*) at the crease at lunch on Day 3, with the visitors leading by 103 runs.
