Jacob Bethell, a promising spin-bowling all-rounder for England, is seriously doubtful to play in the 2025 Champions Trophy after hurting his left hamstring in the current ODI series against India.
Only the next few days will reveal the full impact of the 21-year-old’s injury, which kept him out of the second ODI in Cuttack on February 9. It may take days, weeks, or months to recover from a hamstring injury, depending on how bad it is.
Teams other than England will be concerned about Jacob Bethell injury.
In addition, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), which paid INR 2.6 crore for Bethell at the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 super auction, would be closely monitoring his health.

In the first ODI against India in Nagpur, Bethell was outstanding, scoring 51 runs and taking one wicket in three left-arm spin overs. He appeared in three Twenty20 Internationals throughout the five-match series, although he didn’t do much.
In his 63 T20 appearances, Bethell has amassed 1127 runs with a strike rate of 136.77 and an average of 24.50. At an economy rate of 7.65 and an average of 26.9, he has also claimed 11 wickets.
Additionally, RCB is concerned about the health of Australian seamer Josh Hazlewood, who has been out for the Champions Trophy due to a hip ailment.
