After 4.5 years away from Test cricket, Archer’s return has made headlines, and India’s vice-captain Rishabh Pant is set to play. Jofra Archer’s comeback to red-ball cricket is a major focus as the Anderson–Tendulkar Trophy between England and India enters its third Test at Lord’s Cricket Ground on Thursday.
Archer, who last played in the Tests in early 2021, has struggled with elbow and back ailments. After a 336-run loss to India in the second Test at Edgbaston, the home team has turned to their ace speedster. Archer replaces Josh Tongue in XI.
Barbados-born feels special at the famed arena. Archer made his Test debut and delivered the Super Over as England won the ODI World Cup in 2019.
Rishabh Pant talked about Archer’s comeback and looked forward to meeting him before the match.
Every time I play cricket, I enjoy it and give my all. Being on the pitch, not about anyone. Since he’s returning after a long layoff, it’s usually a terrific match. Watch what happens. He’s back, and I’m glad “Press conference before match.

For the Lord’s Test, Jasprit Bumrah will rejoin India’s XI.
The Indian vice-captain, meanwhile, has amassed 342 runs at an average of 85.50 in the series thus far, including double hundreds in the opening Test. The visitors’ victory in the second Test was greatly aided by his 65 off 57 balls.
The series is now tied at one after India’s convincing victory at Edgbaston. India appears to be in a strong position as Jasprit Bumrah is anticipated to make a comeback to the starting XI. The bowling attack of England, meanwhile, will be hoping that Archer can make early inroads.
