Wiaan Mulder wants to lead the Johannesburg Super Kings to their first-ever SA20 championship in Season 4. Despite qualifying for the playoffs in each of the League’s three seasons, JSK has failed to advance to their first final.
Wiaan Mulder has participated in the Season 2 SA20 final while playing for the Super Giants of Durban. Additionally, it was the all-rounder’s greatest SA20 season to date, as he amassed 297 runs with a strike-rate of 157.14 and an average of 37.13.
However, Wiaan Mulder has now joined his local squad after winning USD518K at the JSK Season 4 auction.
After alternating unsuccessfully over the previous three seasons between players like Dayyaan Galiem, West Indian Romario Shepherd, Namibian Dawid Wiese, and England imports George Garton and Lewis Gregory, JSK coach Stephen Fleming discovered Wiaan Mulder in the hopes of filling the crucial seam-bowling all-rounder position.
“I’m most excited to join a new squad in Season 4. I believe that I have always harboured a small fantasy of working for JSK. “It is my home,” Wiaan Mulder declared. “I played the majority of my cricket there. I am most familiar with the stadium. In South Africa, it’s my favourite stadium. Simply because of its rich history, the Bullring is my favourite stadium. There have been a lot of memorable matches at the Bullring. It’s also a pitch that moves really quickly.
Therefore, there’s always a buzzing sensation when you see things happen fast. Additionally, as a player there, you must constantly be at the top of your game. I’m eager to play and give it my all in the hopes of winning some games and, hopefully, marking the beginning of JSK’s SA20 trophy victory this year.
Wiaan Mulder is particularly excited for a special New Year’s Day matchup at the Wanderers when JSK plays his old team, the Durban Super Giants, at home to start the Season 4.
“With a match on New Year’s Day this year, it’s going to be an incredible event,” he declared. The Johannesburg fan base is quite devoted. They support you regardless of the outcome. Additionally, I believe that throughout the past two seasons, the JSK team has performed admirably. Thus, the following is expanding, and I have no doubt that they will be there to support us.
