Why won't Mark Chapman and Cameron Green be participating in Australia vs. New Zealand in match 27 of the ICC World Cup 2023?
According to Latham, James Neesham replaced Mark Chapman, who has a “calf niggle,” in the Kiwi starting XI, and the fit-again Travis Head replaced all-arounder Cameron Green in the Australian team.
Australia and New Zealand will square off in a pivotal ODI World Cup 2023 match on Saturday, October 28 in Dharamsala. Pat Cummins and Tom Latham, the two captains, each declared one alteration to their starting lineups.
For those who don’t know, Head broke his left hand in the ODI series before the World Cup against South Africa. Due to his incredible form in 2023, the Australian selectors decided to keep him in the squad despite his initial plans to skip the opening few games of the major tournament.
In Head’s absence, Mitchell Marsh performed admirably as David Warner’s opening partner, but there was no question that Head would return to the position after his injury healed. Green, who didn’t do much in the two games, gave way to the seasoned player.
Mark Chapman, meanwhile, scored 36 runs in three innings while batting at No. 7. He did not use his left-arm orthodox bowling as often. After playing in New Zealand’s first game against England, Neesham was benched for the remaining games. With his versatility, he will provide the New Zealand team more balance.

At the toss, what did the captains say?

After winning the toss, Latham decided to field first. Since they were playing a day game, the wicketkeeper-batter thought that the new-ball bowlers may get some assistance. Along with mentioning that the two teams are quite familiar with one another, Pat Cummins also anticipated some assistance up front for the pacers.

We’re heading to the bowls. A day game may mean an early start, a reasonable surface, and something with the new ball.  It will be essential to immediately adjust to the situation at hand, according to Latham.

With a calf ache, Mark Chapman is replaced by Jimmy Neesham.

“Looks like a good wicket, might be something in it early,” remarked Pat Cummins. In replace Cam Green is Travis Head. Although they are a team we know very well, they also know us very well. eager to start working. Aim to establish a large score.”
New Zealand playing XI: Devon Conway, Will Young, Rachin Ravindra, Daryl Mitchell, Tom Latham (wk/c), Glenn Phillips, James Neesham, Mitchell Santner, Matt Henry, Lockie Ferguson, and Trent Boult are the members.
Australia (Starting XI): Glenn Maxwell, Pat Cummins (c), Mitchell Starc, Adam Zampa, Josh Hazlewood, Travis Head, Mitchell Marsh, Steven Smith, Marnus Labuschagne, Josh Inglis (wk),
