Why won't Ashton Agar be playing in Australia vs. India in T20 World Cup 2024?

On Monday, June 24, at the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium in Gros Islet, St Lucia, Australia plays its crucial match against India. Mitchell Starc is back in the Australian playing XI.

The left-arm seamer, a lucky charm, will take Ashton Agar’s spot in the squad, Australian captain Mitchell Marsh declared before the toss.

Starc was not there for Australia’s loss to Afghanistan in their previous match. When Agar took his spot in the playing XI, he performed poorly in the field and did not make an impact at bat either. While he was frugal with the ball, his wicket total was empty.

Without a question, Starc’s return for Australia’s match against India will bolster their bowling lineup. The 34-year-old would like to take advantage of the fact that Indian hitters have historically struggled against left-arm seamers. India, who have yet to lose in the highly anticipated competition, will enter the match with the same team that destroyed Bangladesh handily on June 22.

At the toss, what words did the two captains exchange?

Having won the toss, Marsh chose to field first. Australia would advance to the semifinals as the overwhelming favourites if they won. A loss for the 2021 winners, however, would present Afghanistan and Bangladesh with a fantastic chance to challenge for their first-ever ICC semifinal participation. So, the top player referred to the match versus India as a quarterfinal. In addition to saying that his squad is prepared to take on a formidable opponent like India, he thought the pitch was suitable for batting.

We’re going to start with bowling. It looks amazing and fantastic. Looking forward to the quarterfinal matchup, which pits us against India. This is a familiar scenario for us; now, every game is a must-win. We received a skilled team and excellent personnel. Marsh stated at the toss, “Starc comes in for Agar.

If he had won the toss, Rohit said that he would have likewise chosen to bowl first. The surface is sticky, in his opinion. The 37-year-old expressed optimism that the team will perform at the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium, stating that they had adjusted to the circumstances quite well.

It appears a little sticky, so we would have fielded first as well. Our desire was to pursue. We shall attempt to give it our all because we know exactly what we are doing. I’m hoping for little to no change. In this region of the planet, the overhead circumstances are also significant. Hopefully, we have successfully adjusted for a different game where we perform. Nothing about this competition changes; every game counts. Rohit said, “We are playing the same team.
