On Thursday, May 1, in Jaipur, Rajasthan Royals (RR) players wore a special “Pink Jersey” for Match 50 against the Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2025. When they faced the five-time champions, the RR players wore all-pink clothing, in contrast to their original shirt, which is a mix of pink and blue colours. It’s a component of RR’s yearly ‘Pink Promise’ campaign, which supports Rajasthani women’s welfare.
The “Pink Promise” Initiative: Assisting Rajasthani Women
As part of the “Pink promise match,” the first champions announced in their statement that the RR players will be dressed entirely in pink for the match versus MI. According to their statement, the 2024 Pink Promise match, which was organised in partnership with a lighting supplies company, assisted in lighting thousands of homes.
‘Pink Promise’ Match Impact: Encouraging Women-Led Change “The IPL 2025 Pink Promise match is also the much-anticipated match between the Rajasthan Royals and Mumbai Indians. The Royals’ Pink Promise is to keep assisting Rajasthan’s women-led change. Rajasthan Royals responded the special endeavour in a statement posted on their website.
In addition, RR stated that they would donate INR 100 from each ticket bought for the match between them and MI to support rural change spearheaded by women in Rajasthan. According to RR’s statement, the sales proceeds from this particular match will go towards funding the social impact activities for the Royal Rajasthan Foundation (RRF).
“The Royals will donate ₹100 for each ticket bought for the RR vs. MI game to support women-led rural transformation in Rajasthan in order to continue generating on-ground impact this year. Furthermore, the Royal Rajasthan Foundation (RRF) will directly benefit from all sales of the exclusive all-pink Royals jersey in order to fund its social impact programs,” RR stated in their statement.
RR said at the end of their statement that with every six hit in the match, they will use solar electricity to light up six homes in the Sambhar region. “Furthermore, for every six hit in the match by either team, Rajasthan Royals and RRF will commit to lighting up six homes in the Sambhar region with solar power, ensuring real-time impact with every boundary,” the team stated.
