The Ranji Trophy 2024–25 round seven match between Delhi and Railways generated significant excitement because Virat Kohli was making his competition comeback after a twelve-year absence. But it wasn’t a happy ending for him because on Day 2, the ace batsman was out for a relatively low price in the opening inning. Railways’ Himanshu Sangwan, a right-arm pacer, was the bowler who defeated Kohli.
The timing appeared perfect as supporters believed that Kohli had finally arrived as he hit Sangwan for an authoritative straight drive on the third delivery of Delhi’s 28th over. The seasoned campaigner’s defense was broken by Sangwan’s brilliant delivery on the very next ball, though.

1995 saw the birth of Sangwan in Najafgarh, Delhi, the same neighborhood where former veteran batter Virender Sehwag once lived.
