When you compete against New Zealand, you can be sure that some form of planning has been made against each player: Rohit Sharma

India’s fifth game of the current ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup will pit them against New Zealand. The game will take place on Sunday, October 22 at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala.

Rohit Sharma, captain of India, said that the New Zealand team is tactically extremely strong and that it takes a lot of work to outplay a team like them as both teams compete for first place in the ODI World Cup points table.

“I suppose New Zealand comes to mind when I talk about strategy.

They seem to be quite powerful tactically, and they bat in accordance with the instructions they have been given. As Sharma explained to Star Sports prior of the game, “When you play against them, you know that some form of strategy has been done against each guy.

Only two teams have won every game they have played in the tournament thus far: India and New Zealand. The Tom Latham-led team presently leads the ODI World Cup points standings while taking into account net run rate (NRR).

In ODIs, the Men in Blue have a 58-50 all-time record versus the Kiwis. It is important to remember that New Zealand has played their best against India at ICC events. Notably, following their triumph in the 2003 World Cup, India has not defeated the BlackCaps in an ICC match in the previous 20 years.

India was dealt a serious blow when their star all-rounder Hardik Pandya suffered an ankle injury during the team’s last match against Bangladesh in Pune. Mohammed Shami will probably replace Hardik with the help of the Men in Blue. On the other side, New Zealand is once again without regular captain Kane Williamson because of a thumb injury.
