On the third day, West Zone suffered greatly as Central Zone held them at bay. When play started on the third day, Shubham Sharma and Rajat Patidar kept adding runs till Dharmendrasinh Jadeja ended their partnership. Jadeja scored once more when Patidar was out for 77, while Shubham was dismissed four runs short of a century. West Zone was given the chance to finish the work at 322/5.
But the bowling side was disappointed by the lower order’s incredible resistance. Harsh Dubey and Upendra Yadav combined for 134 for the sixth wicket, which gave their team the lead in the first innings. With a strike rate above 80, Dubey was the more aggressive of the two. Although it was only temporary, Jadeja once more broke the stand to offer some much-needed respite.
Although Saransh Jain and Deepak Chahar contributed significant runs, Yadav also lost out on a lot, leaving for 87. Central Zone entered stumps in a strong position with a lead of 118 thanks to those important contributions, which helped push the total above 550.
Brief scores: Dharmendrasinh Jadeja 4/101 leads West Zone 438 by 118 runs, while Central Zone 556/8 (Shubham Sharma 96, Upendra Yadav 87, Rajat Patidar 77) leads.
North vs. South Zone
In spite of Shubham Khajuria’s valiant undefeated century, South Zone contributed several crucial wickets on a day that went slowly. Before South Zone concluded the day on a positive note, Khajuria was able to bat out the entire day and remained not out on 128. He also participated in productive stands with Ayush Badoni and Nishant Sindhu.
Ankit Kumar and Yash Dhull were removed by Gurjapneet Singh early in the day, hurting North Zone and bringing them down to 38/2. After that, Badoni briefly supported Khajuria by steadiing his side before being trapped lbw for 40. An outstanding century stand saved North Zone’s innings, which was reeling at 101/3.
With a crucial 82 at bat, Nishant, who had earlier in the match claimed five wickets, too made a contribution. However, North Zone lost the plot in the final three overs of play when Gurjapneet struck once again, followed by a run-out. With two days remaining in the game and a 258-run deficit, North Zone will have their work cut out for them.
