Carlos Brathwaite, who used to be captain of the West Indies, talked about how the Caribbean country is doing poorly in the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifiers in Zimbabwe.
The West Indies were eliminated from the upcoming ODI World Cup after losing to Scotland by seven wickets in the Super Six match. Notably, they had lost to hosts Zimbabwe and the Netherlands in the past.
Shai Hope and his teammates haven’t earned any points in the Super Six event so far. Also, they were kicked out of the big event in October because they couldn’t beat Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe, who both have six points after three games and are in first place.
Brathwaite brought up the West Indies’ recent limited-overs results and said that they didn’t make it to the Super 12 round of the ICC T20 World Cup in 2022. The 34-year-old also said that the Windies had had trouble in the past with white-ball cricket.
“It took a long time to get here. Last year, it was clear that T20 didn’t make it to the Super 12 stage either. So, there have been problems in the past with white-ball cricket. On the website of the International Cricket Council (ICC), Brathwaite was quoted as saying, “I think this is as low as you can go.”

Ian Bishop, a legendary fast bowler, says that the West Indies haven’t played regularly good 50-over cricket against the best teams in at least ten years. The 55-year-old went on to say that he knows there has been a lot of self-reflection in the Caribbean country.
“We haven’t played consistently good one-day international cricket against the top countries in maybe a decade. I know that people in the Caribbean have been taking some time to think about their lives. But what this means is that we only have a few seconds left, and we need everyone’s help to get things back where they need to be, Bishop told ESPNCricinfo.
