In a recent interview, Deandra Dottin talked candidly about her experience playing in India. The West Indian player said she had a great time playing in Kotambi’s BCA Stadium.
It appears that the renowned West Indies star was happy to observe how Indian supporters supported female cricket players. She also mentioned how pleased she was with the way women’s cricket has changed recently. The venue’s top-notch amenities were also praised by the renowned West Indies all-rounder.
“The Baroda Cricket Association (BCA) Stadium in Kotambi has first-rate facilities, and I had a great time playing there. It’s also encouraging to observe how Indian cricket fans support female players. Indian cuisine seems a little spicy to me: Deandra Dottin
With spectators flocking to stadiums to see women’s cricket, Deandra Dottin was thrilled that the sport was finally receiving the recognition it so well earned. According to the all-rounder, there is no greater feeling in the world than when players receive support from their supporters, who give them a sense of belonging at the greatest level.
“At last, it is receiving the recognition it merits, and spectators are flocking to the stadium to watch our games. What more is there for a professional cricket player to desire? You feel like you deserve to be here when people come to see you play and your matches are broadcast on television. That is the best feeling in the world. She went on.
During her tour, Deandra also talked about her experiences travelling in India. She talked about her travels and the aspects of the nation that she found most appealing. Dottin said she was able to handle non-spicy food in the subcontinent and felt accepted wherever her team went.
“We had a pleasant chat with Radhikaraje Gaekwad of the Baroda royal family when we visited the Laxmi Vilas Palace during our time in Vadodara. I found the city to be really pleasant. The best thing about India, in my opinion, is that everyone there makes you feel welcome, regardless of the city you visit. I love to eat, but I think Indian food is a little too hot. I find non-spicy cuisine too, but no chillies for me (laughs),” Dottin said.
