RCB captain Rajat Patidar has been praised by Bhuvneshwar Kumar for remaining composed in the face of a demanding job like managing an IPL team, especially the one with the biggest fan following and, of course, the most observers. They have won four of their six games thus far, all away from home, under Patidar, who was kept by RCB and named captain prior to the current campaign.
He has performed admirably. Before RCB’s match against Punjab Kings on April 18, Bhuvneshwar Kumar stated, “The best thing is that he’s been calm.”
He needed that, particularly in this style. Because it’s easy to become anxious after losing a match. Furthermore, he has [not] done that. He has remained the same whether we have won or lost, even if we have lost two games. He has therefore been managing everything quite effectively. He has been excellent throughout the bowling changes and everything else.
According to the seasoned pacer, the team has prepared as usual and hasn’t used any unique techniques for the Punjab Kings, who are tied for the tournament’s win-loss record and just differ in net run rate. “We are getting ready just as we always do. It will be the same as what we do for any opposition on whatever ground,” he declared.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar also admitted that the Chinnaswamy Stadium is no more a bowlers’ cemetery because it is now difficult for the batters to score runs in 2025. “Although the Chinnaswamy is renowned for his batting prowess, the pitch is not what it once was. Yes, regardless of whether we bat or bowl first, we shall observe the wicket’s performance in the first few overs before determining how best to proceed. I’m not sure why.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar responded, “The role cannot be defined before the match,” when asked about his and Josh Hazlewood’s roles in the bowling attack. Hazlewood and I typically bowl in the end and with the new ball, if you look at our bowling. Although our job is very standard, it varies from match to match. It depends on the team’s batting performance, our bowling in the opening overs, and other factors. However, as seasoned bowlers, we both want to win for the team and take wickets.
