The popular World Championship of Legends (WCL) 2025 semifinal match between India and Pakistan will no longer be sponsored by Indian travel agency EaseMyTrip. The business withdrew its support for the major event, citing continued political concerns and national interest.
Following India’s late entry into the elimination stage with a spectacular victory over the West Indies, the semi-final matchup between India and Pakistan was set. But the match has rekindled political tensions between the two countries, especially in the wake of the recent terror attack in Pahalgam. Earlier, a number of players pulled out, costing the Indian team their match against Pakistan in the group stage.
One of the tournament’s main sponsors has now withdrawn, just as both teams are scheduled to play in the knockout round. Nishant Pitti, a co-founder of EaseMyTrip, made the announcement on social media on Wednesday.
Pakistan vs. India: WCL Semi-Final We commend Team India @India_Champions for their exceptional World Championship of Legends performance; you have brought honour to the country. The forthcoming semi-final matchup with Pakistan, however, is more than just a game; terror and cricket are incompatible. We support India, @EaseMyTrip. Any event that aims to normalise relations with a nation that encourages terrorism cannot have our backing. We hear what the Indian people have to say. There are some things that transcend sports. Always put the nation first, business later. On X, he scribbled, “Jai Hind.”
The India vs. Pakistan WCL match will not be connected to EaseMyTrip.

In the meantime, Shikhar Dhawan stated that he would not play in the next game if he didn’t play earlier when he was recently questioned about the possible semi-final match. “You’re asking the wrong question at the wrong time, brother. Do you think I’ll respond if you ask me that question? This is not the right question for you to ask. And I still won’t play if I haven’t already,” Shikhar Dhawan declared.
