Shortly after his divorce from choreographer Dhanashree Verma was finalised, Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal was spotted leaving the Bandra Family Court wearing a T-shirt that read, “Be your own Sugar Daddy.” The intriguing tagline sparked curiosity, leaving everyone to speculate about Chahal’s post-breakup thoughts.
After accepting Chahal and Verma’s joint petition, the Mumbai Court granted the divorce. Nitin Kumar Gupta, Chahal’s attorney, confirmed the news, saying, “The divorce decree has been granted by the court. No longer are the parties husband and wife.
On February 5, Chahal and Dhanashree voluntarily filed for divorce. However, the family court refused to waive the six-month cooling-off period on February 20. Since June 2022, eighteen months after their marriage, the pair has been living apart.

After Dhanashree and Chahal mutually unfollowed each other on Instagram, there were reports that they were divorcing, leaving everyone guessing. In December 2020, Yuzvendra and Dhanashree were married in a modest ceremony in Gurugram. When Yuzvendra Chahal reached out to her on social media for dance lessons during the pandemic, the two became acquainted.
Yuzvendra Chahal will play in the Indian Premier League 2025 for the Punjab Kings (PBKS).
After four years of marriage, the couple made the decision to call it quits. Chahal’s IPL 2025 commitments with Punjab Kings were taken into consideration when scheduling the hearing for March 20. Neither of them has disclosed the divorce’s cause to the public, though.
Yuzvendra Chahal unexpected remark has caused the public and media to wonder about its true meaning when he returns to cricket. Chahal was acquired by PBKS for Rs 18 crore prior to the 2025 IPL season. With the most wickets taken by an Indian in T20I and by any bowler in the IPL, Chahal is the most successful bowler in the league.
