At the SCF Cricket Ground in Salem on Saturday, June 14, the Dindigul Dragons (DD) fielded poorly against the Siechem Madurai Panthers (SMP) in the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) 2025, giving up three runs with several overthrows.
Gurjapneet Singh and S. Rajalingam were at the crease in the match’s last over. Ravichandran Ashwin was positioned in extra cover after the right-hander blasted the ball there. Ashwin pitched the ball towards the bowler’s end after fielding it cleanly, but the bowler was unable to catch it.
The batters then took advantage of the situation to score a second run. The ball was then swiftly delivered towards wicketkeeper Baba Indrajith by another fielder who had recovered the overthrow, but he was unable to catch it either. Seizing the opportunity, the hitters sprinted for a third. The final over became an unexpected game of dodgeball when the ball was thrown back to the bowler, who missed it again.
