On June 8, at the Centrum Hotel in Lucknow, Indian cricketer Rinku Singh and Member of Parliament Priya Saroj were engaged in a private ceremony. Close relatives, friends, and prominent figures from the cricket and political spheres attended the occasion.
Prior to the event, the left-handed batter and his family went to Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh’s Chaudhera Wali Vichitra Devi Temple to ask for blessings. A number of high-profile guests attended the engagement, which took place at Fulcurn Hall, which can accommodate 300 people.
Aryan Juyal, captain of the Uttar Pradesh Ranji squad, and a number of former cricket players, including Praveen Kumar and Piyush Chawla, graced the event. Akhilesh Yadav, the leader of the Samajwadi Party, as well as MPs Jaya Bachchan, Dimple Yadav, and Iqra Hasan were among the political guests. Rajeev Shukla, a Congress leader, and Professor Ram Gopal Yadav, a senior Samajwadi Party official, both made an appearance.
A specially prepared vegetarian dinner influenced by Lucknowi cuisine that combined local and international ingredients was served during the engagement feast. The menu was chosen by the couple themselves. The Centrum provided guest accommodations, with 15 rooms reserved specifically for the occasion. Only invitees with barcoded admission passes were allowed entry, and security was strictly enforced.

In terms of his career, Rinku Singh had a mediocre season with the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, amassing 206 runs at a strike rate of 153.73 and an average of 29.42. With only five victories in 14 games this season, the 2024 champions came in ninth on the points standings.
Rinku Singh has participated in 30 Twenty20 Internationals and amassed 507 runs in 22 innings with a strike rate of 165.14 and an average of 46.09, including three half-centuries. In 2023, he made his India T20I debut against Ireland. With a remarkable List A record of 1,899 runs from 52 innings at an average of 48.69 and a strike rate of 94.8, Rinku has also played in two ODIs.
