When Karachi Kings defeated Quetta Gladiators by 56 runs in Match No. 8 of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi, star pacer Hasan Ali’s naughty celebration attracted a lot of attention.
In the 19th over of Quetta’s innings, Hasan threw a slower delivery to Abrar Ahmed, who shuffled over the stumps and tried a big shot but missed the ball entirely, uprooting his leg stump in the process. Hasan gave Abrar a quick glance after taking the wicket and said, “Oye!” before he broke into Abrar’s famous head-nod celebration. But the pacer approached Abrar and gave him a hug.
Below, you can see Hasan Ali imitating Abrar Ahmed:

It’s interesting to note that Abrar had skipped his trademark celebration after taking a wicket in a game against Lahore Qalandars only a few days prior. However, after taking the spinner’s wicket, Hasan continued to imitate the celebration.
Interestingly, the 30-year-old finished with figures of 3/27, demonstrating an equally outstanding performance with the ball. In order to put the opposition on the defensive in their 176-run chase, he also got rid of Hasan Nawaz and Khawaja Nafay early in the innings. On that night, Hasan also created history by surpassing Wahab Riaz to become the PSL’s all-time top wicket-taker. Nawaz was at the top of the list after taking his 114th wicket in 83 innings.
The Kings, meanwhile, started the match by batting first and scoring 175/7, helped by Mohammad Nabi (18), David Warner (31) and James Vince (70 off 47 balls). Pressure caused Quetta’s top order to crumble in response. Mohammad Amir put up a valiant 30 off 16 balls, but the Gladiators were unable to chase down the score and were only able to reach 119/9.
