MI players Deepak Chahar and Tilak Varma are seen sporting knee braces in a recent airport footage that has gone viral. Before the big match, there were concerns about both players’ health because they were uncomfortable walking and had a lot of taping around their thighs.
On Friday, May 30, the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 Eliminator between the five-time champion Mumbai Indians (MI) and Gujarat Titans (GT) will take place in Mullanpur. However, MI appears to have experienced injury issues before to the pivotal match.
In MI’s most recent match against Punjab Kings (PBKS), Chahar suffered a hamstring injury. As a rookie, he bowled his first over but gave up 28 runs in his following two overs. In the same game, Tilak hurt his knee while fielding.

Tilak Varma season-long total of 274 runs, including two half-centuries, has come in 11 innings. In 14 games, Chahar has taken 11 wickets at an economy rate of 9.17.
The team captained by Hardik Pandya had a difficult start to the season but recovered with a run of wins to guarantee a postseason berth. With eight victories and six defeats, they placed fourth in the league stage. With 640 runs in 14 games, Suryakumar Yadav has been MI’s best scorer, and Trent Boult leads the team’s bowling stats with 19 wickets.
GT, on the other hand, had a bad league-stage finish with back-to-back losses after being reliable throughout the IPL 2025. In the crucial match, they will also try to recover from the losses and play to their best abilities. Jos Buttler will not be playing for GT, while Will Jacks will not be playing for MI.
