During his time with Nottinghamshire in the County Championship, India wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan lately attracted attention for both his batting prowess and his infrequent outing with the ball. Kishan attempted bowling during a tie with Somerset on July 2 and was observed mimicking the motion of the renowned Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh.
Ishan Kishan has been occupied playing county cricket since being excluded from India’s current tour of England.
In his first two red-ball appearances for Nottinghamshire, he has already struck two fifties. The southpaw scored 77 against Somerset in Taunton after batting 87 against Yorkshire on debut.
Ishan Kishan was given the ball in the match’s last over. He mimicked Harbhajan’s well-known bowling motion with his first delivery, bowling from over the wicket to Tom Kohler-Cadmore, who was getting close to a hundred runs. After two traditional off-spin deliveries, he changed his angle to bowl around the wicket to finish the over. He bowled leg-spin after that. The umpire decided not to label his final delivery a wide even though it was considerably wide of the batsman. Kishan gave up just one run at the end of the over.
