Mohammad Nawaz

A strange event occurred on the field during the first innings when Mohammad Nawaz was run out in the 47th over. Shaheen Afridi attempted to play a reverse sweep on the second ball of Colin Ackerman’s over, but the ball ended up hitting his pad and traveling to short fine leg.

On Friday, October 6 at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad, the second game of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 will feature a showdown between Pakistan and the Netherlands. After choosing to bat first, the Netherlands captain asked Pakistan to bat first. Bas de Leede, who finished as the top bowler for his side with a performance of 4/62 in nine overs, bowled out the Babar Azam-led team for 286.

Mohammad Nawaz exited his crease when he thought there could be a chance to grab a single but was yanked back by Afridi.

The two batters ran overthrows as a result of Ackerman’s failure to collect the ball at the non-striker’s end. The Dutch spinner quickly rushed after the ball, grabbed it, and threw it into the striker’s end stumps. As Pakistan lost their ninth wicket in 267, Nawaz was discovered to be short of his ground.

Pakistan’s earlier innings was off to a terrible start, with them reeling at 38/3 after 9.1 overs. Imam ul Haq (15 off 19), Fakhar Zaman (12 off 15), and Babar Azam (5 off 18) all left cheaply, putting their side in serious difficulties right away.

Pakistan’s innings are stabilized by Rizwan and Saud Shakeel.

But with their 120-run partnership off 114 balls, Mohammad Rizwan (68 off 75) and Saud Shakeel (68 off 52) stabilized their innings. Shadab Khan (32 off 34) and Mohammad Nawaz (39 off 43) both made significant contributions to their team’s final score. Pakistan reached 286 all out in 49 overs thanks to useful cameos from Shaheen Afridi (13* off 12) and Haris Rauf (16 off 14). The top two wicket-takers for the Netherlands were Colin Ackerman (2/39, 8 overs) and Bas de Leede (4/62, 9 overs).
