Wasim Akram recalls a humorous exchange with Virat Kohli in which he says, "You come in my dreams now."

Virat Kohli, the star batsman for India, is known as the face of Indian cricket due to his enormous global fan base. The batting sensation even has a sizable fan base in Pakistan, where many of them have expressed a wish to watch him bat there. Wasim Akram, a former Pakistani cricketer, has made public a direct conversation he had with Kohli on the latter’s popularity.

Akram claimed that he told Kohli that he even appears in his dreams during the preshow of the Asia Cup 2023 Super 4 match between India and Pakistan. He further clarified his statement to the Indian batter by saying that he is unable to stop thinking about him because he sees his face everywhere.

“Today I passed him on the street and told Virat Kohli that you now appear in my dreams. What do you mean, Wasim bhai? he replied in response. I explained to him that I frequently see you on television. Akram stated on Star Sports, “I just can’t get him out of my mind.

In addition, Wasim Akram praised Shaheen Afridi, Babar Azam, and Kohli as the match-winners for their respective teams during his remarks on the India vs. Pakistan encounter.

“Virat, Babar, Shaheen, and all of these other match-winners play this game between India and Pakistan for these moments. In Pakistan, everyone aspires to perform, and vice versa. Just decide or die on this. Younger males, not for athletes like Virat Kohli and Babar Azam. These are enjoyable games. The entire city of Colombo was bustling yesterday,” continued Akram.

India is off to a fast start.

The Indian opening pair of Rohit Sharma (56 off 49) and Shubman Gill (58 off 52), however, faced them in the Super 4 match after a disappointing performance against Pakistani seamers in the first game. Shaheen Afridi was destroyed by the pair as they put on a huge 121-run partnership off 100 balls. Virat Kohli (6 off 12) and KL Rahul (13 off 18) are at the crease as India, who had a strong start, are 140/2 after 22 overs.
