On Friday, May 9, Omar Abdullah, the chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir, was seen playing cricket with a youngster at a relief camp along the Line of Control (LoC). In the humorous video, Abdullah watched the toddler bat for a bit before letting the boy bowl as he hit. The head of the National Conference was touring hospitals and relief centres in Samba and Jammu.
He also criticised Pakistan’s unjustified cross-border shelling, drone, and missile attacks in India’s Jammu and Poonch areas.
“This circumstance was not caused by us. In Pahalgam, our people were attacked, and innocent bystanders lost their lives. According to The Indian Express, Abdullah said, “We had to respond.”
After Pakistan fired drones, missiles, and shells on military installations along the western border, sirens sounded and blackouts were imposed in areas of J&K, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Gujarat. Following India’s reprisal for Operation Sindoor, which they saw as a direct assault on their population, Pakistan made these attempts.
The IPL 2025 has also been impacted by the fallout from the two countries’ current tense situation. According to the most recent information, the Board of Control for Cricket in India has decided to postpone the 18th season of the IPL by one week.
A mechanical issue with one of the floodlights at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala forced the cancellation of match 58 in the current season. Later on, it was discovered that the BCCI had decided to halt the competition because of the two nations’ ongoing, worsening dispute.
Every team played 11 games before they were suspended, with the exception of the Chennai Super Kings, Rajasthan Royals, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Mumbai Indians. Remarkably, despite progressing this far in the round-robin phase, no team has guaranteed their spot in the playoffs.
