Virat Kohli’s Competitive Nature Exposed by Ex-Teammate

Abhinav Mukund, a member of the 2008 U-19 World Cup-winning Indian squad captained by Virat Kohli, praised the talismanic batter for his spirit of competition. On March 2, 2008, in the final in Kuala Lumpur, India defeated South Africa by 12 runs (using the DLS system). After completing six innings with 235 runs at an average of 47 and a strike rate of 94.75, Virat Kohli was the tournament’s third-highest scorer. He never looked back after making his debut on the international scene later that year.

Throughout his career, Virat Kohli gained notoriety for his immense hunger and determination in addition to his massive run totals and multiple victories for India. The 36-year-old, who has played international cricket for 18 years, gives every match the same amount of effort.

Even in his early professional cricket days, the Delhi hitter was very competitive, as former India batsman Mukund remembered.

He was always destined for greater things, in my opinion. He had a lot of drive both personally and as a cricket player. He would aspire to be the greatest at everything. Anything he does. Yes, even sipping this coffee or something similar. “Okay, I drink this better than you,” he would say. And he was that kind of person,” Mukund stated in an ESPNcricinfo interview.

“Virat Kohli was naturally aggressive and highly instinctive. Even then, he was a really aggressive person.

In order to win, he would proceed on the field. I have always [pondered] if he can continue doing this in international cricket. due to the fact that he was constantly agitated. He acted violently. He would truly put on a game face, and I always thought he would play to win.

He was active during COVID: Mukund [on the U-19 WhatsApp group].

Mukund disclosed that during the COVID-19 epidemic, Virat Kohli was an active participant in the U-19 team’s WhatsApp group. The former India captain may still be in the group, but the cricket player-turned-expert says he is unsure.

Captain [Virat Kohli] participated in it. He was involved with the group during COVID-19. He may still be involved, but I’m not sure. However, whenever someone succeeds, we stay in contact. Two of the youngsters, for example, became umpires. The Jharkhand Cricket Association (JSCA) welcomed Saurabh Tiwary as a member. You just give them congratulations, and all of these occurrences are kind of cataloged. “Happy birthday, Mukund said,” according to the previously indicated source.
