Virat Kohli won't have to worry about his form if he gives himself some time: Aakash Chopra

Virat Kohli, the standout batsman for India, has only scored five runs in his last three innings during the current ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra expressed his opinion that Kohli should play better in the Super 8 matchup against Afghanistan. Afghanistan vs. India is scheduled to take place in Barbados on June 20.

Regarding Virat Kohli’s performance thus far, the player states, “I think Virat Kohli should get back to his previous form against Afghanistan, not because of the opposition, but because of his calibre of play and the form he demonstrated before this World Cup.” Because of the location and the small side limits, one can only hope that the ball will hit the bat with good force. He’s been too combative, in my opinion. He tried a six on the opening ball of India’s most recent match in Bengaluru against Afghanistan, but was out.

His World Cup dismissals this year point to an excessively optimistic strategy that hasn’t served him well. Naveen-ul-Haq and Fazalhaq Farooqi are playing very well, and they have a potent spin assault, so I hope he allows himself some time. While hosting “#AAKASHVANI” on JioCinema,

Chopra stated, “If Virat Kohli gives himself some time, his form won’t be a concern.”

Additionally, Aakash Chopra shed light on hotly contested pitches in New York where spectators saw games that scored surprisingly little. High-scoring games will likely continue to be uncommon as the pundit believes that West Indies pitches will present a different kind of challenge for hitters.

About the influence of the West Indies pitches on the forthcoming matches: “The New York pitch was unsuitable for Twenty20 cricket, as bowlers dominated and hitters found it difficult to score runs. Every location presents a unique challenge in the West Indies. Barbados has a good surface, the ball twists a much in Guyana, and the Tarouba pitch has very little bounce. High-scoring games will be uncommon because the pitches are generally difficult for hitters.”

Regarding the toss between India and Afghanistan: “It could be beneficial to win the toss and choose to bat first because, historically, this has been an effective tactic on this field. Thanks to their outstanding spin spinners, Afghanistan does well at guarding boundaries but struggles while chasing them. But Rashid Khan had a poor TATA IPL season, and their other bowlers didn’t come up to par too. India will so play well and get a favourable outcome, in my opinion.”
