WATCH: Virat Kohli pats Rohit Sharma's back in admiration after 32nd century in Cuttack ODI vs England

Rohit Sharma‘s second ODI century in the India vs. England match gave the team the impetus they needed to chase down the England team’s lofty target of 304 at the Barabati Stadium. He also played a significant part in the team’s 12th overall ODI series victory over the Three Lions.

For Rohit, who was receiving a lot of flak for his lacklustre play in the final games leading up to the game, this was kind of the ideal comeback. Virat Kohli, his teammate and great batsman, was dismissed for just five runs, unable to create an impression throughout the match, while Rohit went on to play an amazing performance. He nevertheless continued to praise the India captain for his outstanding knock, which enabled the squad to mount a formidable chase against a formidable English bowling attack.

Virat Kohli made a wonderful gesture by realising how much the knock helped the team approach the goal and ultimately win the series.

After Rohit’s amazing performance, which was eventually removed by Liam Livingstone, the former India captain was seen patting him on the back as he entered the changing room.

Series finale to be hosted by Motera

Regarding the series, the final One-Day International will take place at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium, also called Motera Stadium. Even though the Indian team has already won the series, they will aim to sweep the English team and end it on a strong note before the Champions Trophy, which is quickly approaching. However, in order to avoid a complete sweep, England will want to play for pride.

The Hitman’s record at the venue speaks for itself; he is the top run scorer to date, amassing 354 runs in seven games at an average of 50.57, including three 50+ scores, including the maximum of 95 he achieved in 2011 against the West Indies.
