The World Test Championship (WTC) 2023–25 cycle’s second series between India and South Africa will feature ace batsman Virat Kohli playing two Test matches. The SuperSport Park Cricket Stadium in Centurion will host the first Test match on December 26. The Newlands Cricket Ground in Cape Town will host the second match on January 3, 2024.
Against the Proteas in the T20Is and the ensuing ODIs, Kohli and captain Rohit Sharma have been rested. The 35-year-old has not participated in a match since India’s devastating loss to Australia in the 2023 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup. The three-match ODI series will start on December 17 at the Wanderers in Johannesburg. Additionally, India tied the T20I series against South Africa 1-1.
On his way to South Africa, Kohli was seen arriving at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport. Wearing a duffel bag and a brown jacket, the former captain of India was spotted taking a photo with airport employees.

The 35-year-old has amassed 1236 runs at an astounding average of 56.18 in a total of 14 Tests between the two teams. 2019 saw him record his highest Test score of 254* against the Proteas. He has participated in seven Test matches in South Africa thus far, scoring 719 runs at an average of 51.35, with a career-high 153 runs in 2018. In addition, he has crushed the South African team with three hundred and four fifties.
