With over 270 million followers globally, cricket star Virat Kohli is the most followed Indian on Instagram. Because of his on-field success in cricket, he has become one of the most sought-after personalities in the sport and has amassed enormous social media followings.
However, he hasn’t posted anything related his cricketing exploits on Instagram, be it the picture with the T20 World Cup 2024 trophy or the recent success India made at the Champions Trophy 2025 in Dubai. Since his profile has recently been overflowing with sponsored corporate partnerships and promotional postings, people have naturally been interested.
The Delhi native finally gave an explanation for why he doesn’t post frequently on the internet to engage with followers during an event in Bengaluru on Saturday, March 15.
“Technology without purpose is terrible, so I don’t post on social media too often. My life doesn’t change because I post on social media. At the Indian Sports Summit hosted by RCB Innovation Lab, the 36-year-old stated, “I don’t have to post because people’s comments don’t have any reaction on me.”

As the Royal Challengers prepare for the tournament opener against the Kolkata Knight Riders, he will shortly be attending the training camp at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. His entrance at the Garden City was captured on camera by the franchise’s official social media account, and within minutes, the footage went viral on social media.

With 8004 runs in 252 games for RCB since 2008, Virat Kohli holds the record for most runs in IPL history. Shortly after India won the U-19 World Cup that year when he was captain, Bengaluru purchased him for the inaugural season. Virat Kohli has become the franchise’s poster boy and hasn’t looked back since. He has already stated that he will remain devoted to the team till the conclusion of his playing days.
