Reports: Virat Kohli focuses on tackling left-arm spin in practice session ahead of Mumbai test

Virat Kohli has been struggling against spin, and lately, he has been falling victim to left-arm spin. Mehidy Hasan Miraz, an off-spinner, removed him during the series against Bangladesh, and Glenn Phillips, an off-spinner from New Zealand, took his wicket during the first Test match in Bengaluru. The star batsmen’ battle against spin suffered more harm during the Pune Test.

He was removed in both innings of the Pune Test by Mitchell Santner, a left-arm spinner. In the second inning, Santner got rid of him LBW after he had been cleaned up in the first. In an attempt to get beyond the unusual obstacle he has found himself in, the 35-year-old was spotted practicing frantically against left-arm spin ahead of the third Test in Mumbai as he struggles with spin and to come among runs.

In the net sessions at the Wankhede, Kohli was reportedly observed assaulting the spinners, according to sources from The Indian Express. The ball was launched both with and against the spin as he danced down the track. In addition, he decided against playing defence and called up Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav to bowl at him.

After dropping the first two Test matches, India needs to win the third one in order to go to the World Test Championship 2025 finals. Australia Down Under will be their opponent for five Test matches in

the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. For the third time in a row, India needs to win at least four of the final six Test matches in order to advance to the WTC final.
