Vijay Bharadwaj joins Delhi Capitals as scouting head

Vijay Bharadwaj, a former middle-order batsman from Karnataka, has joined the Delhi Capitals as the coach of their talent scout wing. The Capitals are undergoing a massive overhaul of their back-end with the hiring of Hemang Badani as head coach and Venugopal Rao as director of cricket.

Tracking possible players that the Capitals might have their sights set on in the long run is Vijay Bharadwaj role with the team.

He’ll probably be at the franchise’s trials in the upcoming weeks. The trials will begin with the first round on October 23 and the second in Mumbai the following month.

The Capitals administration, who have a backroom full of international personalities, is apparently eager to have players and people who have closely followed domestic cricket.

A person with knowledge of the Capitals’ developments underlined the significance of focussing on the elements involved in developing young players from all over India and not shutting down during the off-season.

“The IPL tournament lasts more than two months. All year long, it requires preparation, effort, and strategy. There is too much cricket going on both inside and outside of India for you to afford to turn off. “A franchise must make sure they work 365 days a year to be on top,” a source told TOI, citing the several factors at play in scouting, camps, trials, and player development.

Munuf Patel is probably going to be DC’s bowling coach.

Munaf Patel, a former bowler for India, is also very likely to be appointed bowling coach for DC. Earlier this year, he was photographed watching the Sher-E-Punjab T20 matches from the stands. He has also been following several 20-over competitions in India.

It appears quite likely that additional backroom staff members will be added, especially since the teams have eight days left to file their retentions.
