India first lost the Women’s T20 World Cup in South Africa before the men’s squad suffered a heartbreaking defeat to Australia in the World Test Championship final. Last but not least, India advanced through all of the ODI World Cup matches before facing the Pat Cummins-led team in Ahmedabad for the championship.
For Team India, it has been a year of “what could have been.” They dominated the World Cup but suffered greatly on the day that mattered in the finals. Additionally, they lost the WTC finals. In each of these contests, Travis Head was outstanding.
