The renowned all-rounder Venkatesh Iyer says he is thrilled to play under his new captain, Ajinkya Rahane, as the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) prepare for the IPL 2025 opening.
After being named captain of the reigning champions, Ajinkya Rahane became the only player to captain three IPL teams. He will be looking for KKR to win the championship again this year. Iyer has already discussed how Rahane, as the team’s leader, is attempting to fit in with the group before the lucrative league begins, even if the season hasn’t begun yet. Additionally, Venkatesh Iyer publicly commended his gaming experience and his ability to remain composed under duress.
He has been a fantastic group leader thus far. He has made an effort to connect with the crew by striking up talks with each of us. We are discussing a someone who has already commanded IPL teams and led India across all formats. He has been a mainstay of the game, has a great head on his shoulders, and maintains his composure under duress. He’s scored runs everywhere. Iyer told NDTV, “I am really excited to play under him, and I think it will be a great learning experience.”
I’ve always conducted myself in a leadership manner: Venkatesh Iyer
When asked about his responsibilities as the newly named vice-captain of the Kolkata Knight Riders, Venkatesh Iyer responded that he has always conducted himself as a leader and put in the hard work. He also spoke about how well the team is preparing for the competition.
“There isn’t any particular planning involved. It’s nothing new to me; I’ve always carried myself like a leader. In both bowling and batting, I have worked hard. Above all, it comes down to mindset; half the work is done if you have accepted the position and are prepared to assume the responsibilities. We have a solid core of guys and have prepared well. Iyer continued, “I’m really looking forward to the season and excited about it.”
