Varun Chakravarthy continues his magical spell to dismiss Jamie Overton in Rajkot

At the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot, the third T20I of the India-England series got underway. After winning the toss, the Indian team decided to bowl first. Once more, the England squad was asked to bat. With five overs remaining in the match, the English team, who had gotten off to a strong start, quickly lost half of their team.

Varun Chakravarthy was the bowler who once again caused problems for the visitors by interfering with the England innings in the middle overs. Because of this, he ended up with one of his greatest T20I statistics, finishing with 5/24. Chakravarthy’s second five-wicket haul in T20Is was noteworthy.

The England bowling all-rounder Jamie Overton was one of the most prominent players Chakravarthy took out during his spell. Overton attempted a paddle sweep when Chakravarthy bowled a quicker one that drifted in a bit, but the ball knocked over his leg stump. Varun’s third victim in the game was Overton, who went for a golden duck.

In Rajkot, India needs to win by 172 runs.

Ben Duckett and Liam Livingstone were England’s top scorers in the game, as they finished their innings with a score of 171-9 in their 20 overs. Livingstone played an interesting knock of 43 off 24 deliveries, while Duckett scored 51 off 28 deliveries.

India T20I vice-captain Axar Patel (1/19) and Hardik Pandya, who finished with statistics of 2/33 in his entire allotment of four overs, were the other Indian bowlers who produced some good spells in addition to Chakravarthy. The Jos Buttler-led team has amassed a respectable total thanks to some good knocks, and the Indian hitters will be hoping to hunt down the score and win the series.
