Once again, Varun Chakravarthy was at it, tearing through Harry Brook’s defense to hit timber for the second time in three days. It happened on Saturday, January 25, during the second Twenty20 International of India’s five-match series against England at Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium.
The powerplay, Chakravarthy’s third performance of the evening, was followed immediately by the encore.
It was Varun Chakravarthy traditional back-of-the-hand delivery.
Brook’s downfall was caused by the bat-pad gap and the additional bounce, as the ball touched the top of off stump and he could only respond with a wry smile.
Here’s the video of the dismissal –

After Brook’s ejection, Ravi Shastri and Sunil Gavaskar make a playful jab at him.
The fight was far from over. Former Indian stars Ravi Shastri and Sunil Gavaskar, who were commentating on-air at the time, each made a clever jab at Brook after the batter was cleaned.
Here we have Varun Chakravarthy once more. “You don’t need the smog; it’s a sneak-through that collided with the stumps,” Shastri said.
“As he looks at him, Varun Chakravarthy might be inquiring about the presence of smog,” Gavaskar said.
In the first Twenty20 International in Kolkata, the English vice-captain recently claimed that the fog made it difficult for the English hitters to bat against spin. The Indian cricket community did not take well to Brook’s comments.
After winning the toss once more, India chose to bowl first in the encounter. Once again, the visitors’ leading scorer was Jos Buttler, the captain. He scored a comfortable 30-ball 45 in the end.
When it comes to the hosts needing 71 runs from eight overs with five wickets remaining, England is now ahead.
