Sai Sudharsan of the Gujarat Titans was praised by former Indian cricketer Varun Aaron for his 82-run performance off 53 deliveries against the Rajasthan Royals on Wednesday, April 9 at the Narendra Modi Stadium. In the first innings of the match, GT reached 217/6 thanks to the southpaw’s fourth IPL half-century this season.
Aaron commented in-depth about the class that emanated from the 23-year-old’s bat, especially during the 17th over of the first innnings, and praised Sai Sudharsan tenacity in the game.
“He works extremely hard and has a clear understanding of his responsibilities. Sai is unquestionably dedicated, both on and off the pitch. Now, that commitment is evident. His performance today was outstanding. Given that Sandeep Sharma doesn’t provide much pace, those two sixes over cover weren’t simple. Aaron said on JioHotstar, “That shows Sai is in great form and seeing the ball really well to hit him for sixes over cover when he’s bowling wide.”
That is the distinguishing feature of a robust, well-rounded team: Varun Aaron
The former GT player emphasised the efforts of particular players, such as Shahrukh Khan, Rahul Tewatia, and Arshad Khan, while claiming that their “complete team” was not one that mostly relies on one or two players to perform well.
“The Gujarat Titans are demonstrating the qualities of a cohesive team. They have made significant investments in emerging talent. Consider Shahrukh Khan, who has been assigned a well defined role by the squad despite not receiving many runs in the last two seasons. Every year, Rahul Tewatia plays his part and remains a dependable contributor. Arshad’s talent for taking crucial wickets strengthens their bowling attack. A healthy, well-rounded squad that doesn’t rely just on one or two stars is characterised by everyone contributing,” he continued.
In the IPL 2025, GT is off to an incredible start. So far, the team captained by Shubman Gill has won four of the five games. On Saturday, April 12, they will play the Lucknow Super Giants at the Ekana International Cricket Stadium. The others, including Sai Sudharsan, will be eager to build on their successful start.
