Vaibhav Suryavanshi Blasts 36-Ball Ton

On the first day of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025–26 at the JSCA Oval Ground in Ranchi, Vaibhav Suryavanshi delivered another incredible innings. On Wednesday, December 24, the bowlers from Arunachal Pradesh became the target of this assault.

Sakibul Gani won the toss and chose to bat first, and the 14-year-old soared to 190 off just 84 balls. His strike rate was an incredible 226.19 when he was finally caught by Techi Doria and ejected by Techi Neri.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi hit 16 fours and 15 sixes in his spectacular knock.

The left-handed hitter reached the three-figure mark in just 36 deliveries earlier in the day. As a result, he scored the second-fastest century in List A history for an Indian.

Anmolpreet Singh of Punjab achieved the current Indian record for the fastest century in List A, which is 35 balls, during the Vijay Hazare Trophy last season. Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s 36 now ranks just behind that and is among the fastest List A hundreds overall, with AB de Villiers (31) and Jake Fraser-McGurk (29) at the top of the list.

Bihar had already surpassed the 260-run threshold in just 27 overs when Vaibhav Suryavanshi was removed following a blazing hit. To begin their campaign in the 50-over competition, the opening batsman has made sure that his team reaches a massive first-innings total.

During Suryavanshi’s tenure at the crease, no bowler from Arunachal Pradesh was able to have an economy rate lower than seven. While Suryavanshi was at the crease, Tech Neri leaked runs at an economy rate of over 15 runs per over.

Suryavanshi recently participated in the U-19 Asia Cup, where he placed fourth among the competition’s top scorers. However, India lost the match by 191 runs in Dubai last week, and he was only able to make a 10-ball, 26-run cameo in the final against Pakistan.
